By theatre students from the Lycée Philippe Lamour in Nîmes

Iphigenia and Achilles, two young people sacrificed on the altar of war. To illustrate this, the show’s young actors and actresses, who are Year 12 theatre students at the Lycée Philippe Lamour, adapt the ancient myth to reflect on their own youth. From the texts of Michel Azama (Iphigénie ou le péché des dieux, 1990), Tiago Rodrigues (Ifigénia, 2015) and Simon Abkarian (Electre des bas-fonds, 2019), this rewritten tragedy inevitably leads to a representation of the sacrifice of youth as decided for evermore by the gods and the mighty.
