Decrypting Archaeology: Putting the Pieces Together with Ceramology

Guided tour

This tour & workshop will have you going potty for pottery! That’s right, that’s what this event is all about: pottery, also known as ceramics.

Very solid and very fragile at the same time, these materials have been found dating back to the end of prehistoric times, in large quantities but for the most part in pieces.

These pieces are extremely precious to ceramologists, as they allow them to provide a specific time frame, determine eating habits, identify production techniques etc.

Then, it’s your turn to ‘put the pieces together’ with observation, drawing, archaeological techniques and identification.
