Family tour for children aged 6-12 – Filthy rich: discover the ancient currencies once used in Nîmes 

Sestercius, as, dupondius, etc. The Gauls and Romans used various currencies when they traded with one another, which led to later fascination for passionate coin collectors. You will not be able to learn everything there is to know about ancient currency on this tour, but we can reveal a part of it thanks to the museum’s collections. So where did these coins come from? How were they made? What role did currency play in Roman propaganda? You will even receive your very own legionary’s salary, to use wisely in accordance with the current monetary system. Make sure you don’t go bankrupt!
